Course And Curriculum
The course offered is of 05 years’ duration and a compulsory 01-year internship training. The national curriculum approved by BM&DC with affiliation of the university of Dhaka is strictly followed in the college.

Academic activities of the phases are planned and managed by Phase coordinators and the coordinators are selected by the academic council of the college.
NB: All academic activities including professional examination of each phase must be completed within the specified time of the phase (Phase-I =18 months, Phase-II = 12 moths, Phase-III= 12 months and Phase-IV = 18 months).
- 1. Anatomy includes General anatomy, embryology, Histology, Topographic, Radiographic and clinical anatomy.
- 2. Pathology includes General pathology, Systemic Pathology, Hematology, clinical pathology and Blood transfusion.
- 3. Microbiology includes Bacteriology, Immunology, Virology, parasitology & Mycology.
- 4. Medicine & Allied includes Internal medicine, pediatrics, Psychiatry, Dermatology & venereal diseases, physical medicine, Transfusion medicine etc.
- 5. Surgery and allied includes General surgery, orthopedic surgery and traumatology, ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, anesthesiology, Radiology & Imaging, Radiotherapy dentistry etc.
MBBS Course
The MBBS course has duration of 5 years and follows the directives of The University of Dhaka. The academic programme has been designed to cover all aspects of medical sciences.

System Of Examinations:
Examinations are conducted through written, structured Oral, practical, formative and Clinical assessments. University professional examinations will be held twice a year in May & November. Examination, Distribution of Marks and pass marks in each subjects are shown below:

Internship:
All students passing final year MBBS examination successfully will have to undergo one year of Internship Training (Hospital Training) as per rules and regulations of BMDC (Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council) as described below:
- 1.After passing final professional MBBS examination students have to enroll for one-year log book based mandatory rotatory internship programme. It is compulsory to complete one year supervised internship programme to get permanent registration from BM&DC for doing independent practice.
- 2.MBBS graduates must join internship within one month after passing the final professional MBBS examination. Exception can be considered based on the only valid personal medical ground upon approval of the authority of Asgar Ali Medical College and Hospital.
- 3.Within one year (12 months) of internship period 11 months will be at Asgar Ali Medical college hospital and one month at Upazila Health Complex (UHC)/field level.
- 4.Timeline of completion of internship will be two years from the starting / joining date. Exception can be only considered based on the valid personal medical ground upon approval of the authority of Asgar Ali Medical College and Hospital.
